Cayuta Sun Farm, Catharine NY

with Michael Burns and guests

Join us for more than two days of instruction and activities learning introductory permaculture assessment and design skills. The course is ideal for those who may not have a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC), have limited time, and are looking for an affordable way to learn.

Arrive friday night for a community meal and introductions. Camp overnight in beautiful pine woods or seek lodging nearby. A pre-course assignment will prepare you to create a base map of your design project or use Cayuta Sun Farm as your practice site. Saturday and Sunday you will be introduced to ecological design principles and skills that you will be able to apply immediately to your own endeavors.

Rustic camping and hot meals are included in the tuition fee.

Enjoy expert and accessible instruction at an active permaculture site. You will create a base maps, learn to identify, record and analyze key landscape features and patterns, and create a schematic design map to take home. All are encouraged to work on their own project or property.
