The Finger Lakes Resource Conservation & Development Council encourages sustainable agriculture and land use practices. They supported the Community Training in Ecological Design by sponsoring scholarships.

The Schuyler County Environmental Management Council also sponsored scholarships for local residents in order to encourage productive and ecologically sound designs for rural, village and urban land.
