Dear Friends,
We’re fortunate to live in an agriculturally-rich region with the social capital to organize around what matters: people and the planet. Now more than ever we need to channel our energy to creating more resilient communities.
FLPCI exists to provide educational opportunities so that more and more people in our region have the skills to regenerate our bioregion and communities. If you’ve been inspired by the promise of ecological design, or if you have benefited from a workshop, course or the Permaculture Weekend, here are three ways you can help nurture the permaculture movement in the Finger Lakes:
- Consider making a donation so that we can grow our regional movement to include an even broader base of practitioners. Your donation goes directly to support our programming because FLPCI is a volunteer-run organization. Also, this year is our first year as a 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax-deductible!
- Join a committee to help plan, promote, and staff the Permaculture Weekend this summer.
With your support in any of these three capacities, we will improve next year’s Permaculture Weekend by:
• purchasing an “event software” to make it easier for you to register and receive updates about the events you will be attending
• organizing transportation for thematic “tour routes” to make this event more accessible and high-impact than ever while also furthering our collective efforts to reduce fossil fuel emissions on the weekend.
The Permaculture Weekend highlights individual and collective efforts to develop regenerative food systems and social systems to strengthen communities and build bioregional resilience. This past year, 18 homes, farms, businesses, and community gardens offered tours, workshops, skillshares, presentations, and pop-up marketplaces with hundreds of visitors traveling from as far away as New Jersey and Canada.
Next year, we hope to have even more high-impact opportunities to learn, share, and connect.
