FLPCI Alum builds his farm with apples & permaculture

Peter participated in the apprentice program for FLPCI back in 2010. Since then, he has started his own farm in Hammondsport, NY. He says working with FLPCI and those involved with the institute was one of the main influencers in his decision to farm after graduating college. The 11th Permaculture Design Certificate course scheduled to begin on July 26, 2013 appears to be sold out.

Potential students who still have a strong desire to take our course are encourage to sign up for the waiting list. Most years one or more students have been unable to attend and space becomes available to those on the waiting list.

High School Teaches Permaculture with Michael Burns

New Roots High School is a public charter high school committed to social justice and ecological sustainability. Learning permaculture design is a natural fit for New Roots students who are accustomed to learning about many of the same struggles and solutions to meet human and ecological needs that permaculture designers address in their work.

From the beginning, the founding members of the Finger Lakes Permaculture Institute articulated that a goal for the organization was to improve access to our programming, and in particular to our Permaculture Design Certification (PDC) course held each summer.
